Joan Milburn

Joan Milburn is an actor, playwright,  and educator based in New York City. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she is a 2019 graduate of Southwestern University, where she earned a B.A in Theatre. While at Southwestern, Joan premiered three original plays: Sightlines, Blue, and Adverse Intentions. She was also a part of the playwriting team of The Texas Beauty Pageant Murder which Southwestern performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018. Joan’s work has also been produced with the Stage Writer’s Festival, Stage West FOTK, The Resilience Theatre Group, Little Fish Theatre, the Texas Educational Theatre Association, and Paper Kraine in New York City. She has a passion for writing about theatre for social change, feminist narratives, queer joy, and mental health! More information can be found at
